Crosby and Malkin to start in All-Star Game - 1-3-09

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin were voted in as starters for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star Game, Jan. 25, in Montreal.

They will be joined by four Canadiens in former Penguins forward Alex Kovalev, defensemen Andrei Markov, Mike Komisarek and goaltender Carey Price.

Price beat out Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury for the starting nod. Price had 1,515,885 votes to Fleury's 1,486,079.

The last pair of Penguins to be voted into an all-star game as starters were Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr in the 1996-97 season.

Chicago forwards Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and defenseman Brian Campbell will start for the Western Conference along with Anaheim forward Ryan Getzlaf, defenseman Scott Niedermayer and goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
