Good old racist Don Cherry was at it again Saturday night taking a dig at Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin. At the 3:40 mark of the following video, a clip is shown of Boston's Marc Savard dishing a pass to Phil Kessel for an empty netter during a recent game. Cherry lauds Savard for passing up a sure goal and giving it to a teammate. He then bellows, "Not Like Malkin!"
This is the "selfish" player Cherry was whining about:

We know complaining about Don Cherry being a bigoted rube is like complaining about water being wet. It's just one of those things that's never going to change. That's why we don't take Cherry seriously and you shouldn't either.
We actually like Cherry. He's an entertainer. He's an act. A very good one at that. But nothing more. How can you take a guy who wears daisy-printed suits seriously?
But this jab against Malkin is pretty pathetic. Labeling him as a puck hog is clearly incorrect. Obviously, Malkin's biggest crime in Cherry's eyes is being born in Magnitogorsk instead of Moose Jaw.

I can't even begin to comment about how much Don Cherry drives me insane. I actually mute him during HNIC because I can't listen to the filth spewing from his mouth without getting angry. People tell me that I don't appreciate him as I wasn't born a Canadian, but I usually reply that I can't believe that a country as multi-cultural and socailly minded as Canada lets a racist bigot like him preach his anti-European and anti-French from a national pulpit like the CBC. UGH!

Bobby Heenan is a perfect analogy. Cherry is the hockey equivalent of pro wrestling. But, if you don't take him seriously, he is funny.
Agreed Seth, I like Cherry too...For his entertainment...Nothing he says will ever mean a thing to me hockey wise.
But does this mean Crosby should have passed up on his diving empty netter for the hat trick and laid it off?
Or is that going against all things Cherry in regards to Crosby worship?
