AgentSka reports here on a robocall saying Pittsburgh Councilwoman Tonya Payne is doing a write-in campaign for her District 6 council seat . . . despite losing that seat May's Democratic primary to Daniel Lavelle. We're not quite sure this is kosher (and see a taxpayer-financed letter she issued to constituents in August), but anyway we were also fowarded this message on the write-in bid:
URGENT!! WRITE IN Tonya Payne for City Council District 6
Don't write
her off...WRITE her in!
Description
If you live in District 6 you know that right now is a
critical time of growth and possibilities for the district. Without a
representative that has the district's best interest at heart, we can't
continue on the path of growth and positive changes that we are on.
Many
accomplishments have been made in the past four years and many more positive
changes can happen in years to come, but we need your support! Please write in
Tonya Payne on November 3rd for City Council District 6 and help us continue to
move the district forward.
Many people feel that their one vote does not
matter, but in this election that could not be further from the truth. In fact,
the primary was won by only 226 votes. It is very possible to make up those
votes if we all work together and stay focused. I need your help to educate our
friends and neighbors who live in District 6 on how to cast a write-in vote as
well as how crucial every vote is to the future of the district. Please call all
of your family and friends and ask them to support us.
