Acklin just made some pretty harsh accusations about Ravenstahl, saying he lied in a KDKA debate on Saturday. The quotes below are not exact:
Qusestion from Wendy Bell: . We elect untrustworthy politicians nationwide - how can Pittsburghers know that Pittsburgh comes first?
Acklin: I would never put interests of my supporters before city. Asked mayor to explain John Verbanac and Ed Grattan's role in this administration, he said they were friends and supporters. My campaign has documents and emails showing Verbanac writes speeches, advised you to purge staff, advised you to fire BBI chief Ron Graziano - It's very clear Mr. Ravenstahl you lied to the people of this city on Saturday.
Ravenstahl response: When I became mayor three years ago, I wasn't ready to become mayor . . . You learn on the job and I'm glad I've been able to do that.
Acklin: Would you care to respond to the question?
Ravenstahl: Your accusations are wrong, they are inappropriate. . . I would just advise Mr. Acklin to be very very careful.
Acklin: The mayor just lied again. We have an email from Mr. Verbanic on LTV site.
Ravensthal: John Verbanec is a friend of mine, yes. . .
