Jim O'Toole's full story on Joe Biden's visit to Pittsburgh last night -- to support Arlen Specter in front of Allegheny County Democrats -- is here, including Biden's comment that Arlen is "his best buddy." Arlen in turn said of Biden, "personally, he's my best friend."
The latter comment came from Jim's pool report on a Specter fundraiser before the Dem dinner, which also included these Biden quotes:
"The truth is Arlen's been a moderate Democrat his whole career, even when he was a Republican.''
Ed Rendell is "the best governor in the country -- that's a natural fact.''
"Who would you pick, even if you don't like the S.O.B ... who would you pick -- Arlen Specter.''
