Dan Onorato leads other Dem governor hopefuls in a new Rasmussen poll today . . . BUT.
The real leader is "not sure," the pollsters reported today:
Thirty-seven percent (37%) of likely Democratic Primary Voters in
Pennsylvania are not sure how they will vote when it comes time to
select a Democratic Party nominee for governor in 2010.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone
survey finds that another 10% would prefer someone other than the
candidates currently in the mix meaning that nearly half the voters
have no current preference. But then the May 18 primary is still seven
months away.
In this wide open setting, Allegheny County Executive Dan
Onorato attracts 19% of the vote, while state Auditor Jack Wagner is
the choice for 14%. Former Congressman Joe Hoeffel is preferred by 11%.
Two other candidates pick up single digit support: Scranton Mayor Chris
Doherty at six percent (6%) and businessman Tom Knox with four percent
(4%).
Even among Democratic Primary voters, the candidates are
generally unknown. Onorato earns Very Favorable reviews from 14% while
none of the other candidates reach double digits. Between 42% and 49%
don't have even a soft opinion of each candidate.
