Arlen Specter will back in Pittsburgh Friday morning to dole out stimulus funds. Here's the press release:

U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) will announce significant stimulus funding on Friday to reconstruct the US 22/30/60 Interchange in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania.

The project will reconfigure the interchange to meet Interstate Highway System design standards.  The current configuration requires hazardous weaving maneuvers by the 42,000 motorists that travel the road daily.  The project will also improve safety by installing new traffic signals and signage in Robinson and North Fayette Townships.

Notably, the upgrade is one of several needed to bring the roadway network west of Pittsburgh up to Interstate standards so that the corridor can be officially designated as "Interstate 376."  All aspects of the I-376 designation efforts are now fully-funded and will be under construction before the end of 2009.
