The nitpicking begins

Good morning and many happy Early Returns, political junkies.  Master blogger Tim McNulty is off today and I am busy playing catchup the day after the Sarah Palin-Joe Biden debate, which most pundits believe was essentially a wash, with decent performances by both and no memorable gaffes or otherwise.   Predictably, The New York Times' columnist David Brooks, a conservative, liked Ms. Palin very much, while The Washington Post's E.J. Dionne, a liberal, did not.

Meanwhile, the nitpicking is beginning.  Amidst declarations of victory from both sides, the Obama campaign is emailing reporters a Boston Globe blog posting wondering if Sarah Palin wrongly referred to General David McKiernan, Commander for NATO International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, as "General McClellan."   And the McCain campaign just weighed in with this item from The News Journal in Delaware, noting that Joe Biden's mention of Katie's Restaurant in Wilmington referred to an eatery that hasn't been called that in many years. may actually be called the Kozy Korner.

There's undoubtedly more where this came from and we'll be sure to post any and all campaign carping as it comes into our emailbox...
