Ifill biased?

A conservative talking point swirling around today is the moderator of tomorrow's VP debate, Gwen Ifill, is in the bag for Obama. She has written a "pro-Obama" book and grilled Cheney in a 2004 debate, according to this story cited by Drudge.

Ifill talks about the book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" -- which looks at the state of black political leadership by studying Obama, Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick, Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Alabama congressman Artur Davis -- in the following clip. All four pols are Democrats. (A personal note: we've met Ifill and she's a terrific person and journalist.)

(UPDATE: McCain tells Fox News, via Politico, that Ifill is "a highly-respected professional.")
