Back in the 'Burgh

Well, no more Florida sun. But who cares? We've got the Steelers. Here's a look at the big victory parade in downtown Pittsburgh. I've heard crowd estimates of 400,000. It's more people than I've seen at one place in this town since... well, since the last Super Bowl victory parade. Surfing the crowd in this video is Ryan Clark. You can check out a panoramic picture of the scene by clicking here.

Troy's leap

I saw Troy Polamalu's first dive into the crowd -- it happened at the intersection of Market Street and the boulevard -- but was too far away to tape it. So I followed his vehicle for a while, hoping for a repeat performance. At the Stanwix Street intersection, Troy leaped again. That's Ryan Clark hollering, "Bring him back, bring him back."

Now, this is commitment

Craig Faish of Indiana, PA, wins the award for best body paint at the parade.

Stress, then a celebration

So did that game wear you out? This video tracks the emotional extremes Pittsburgh fans experienced as the Steelers scored, then gave up points, then finally went ahead to win the game. I've never seen fans ride such a rollercoaster. Yikes.

Head painting and beer pong

Matt Freed just handed me this video clip he'd made outside the stadium. We'll be heading into the stadium in a bit. I'll try to send a post or two from there.

The Big Day, part 2

Here's some more video from around the stadium. People are beginning to file in and find their seats.

The Big Day, part 1

We're at the stadium, a few hours before kickoff. It's partly cloudy here, shirtsleeve weather (at least for a Pittsburgher). Here's some video I made while walking around the stadium. I think I found the only Cardinals fans in the vicinity

Only in your dreams, buddy

Fellow PG photographer Robin Rombach and I were walking near Raymond James Stadium when we came across Cardinal fan Mike Nuessle and his brother-in-law and Steeler fan Gregg Consolo. The two were having a great time ribbing each other about the game. Robin shot this hilarious picture of the two clowning around. Consolo is originally from Warrendale and now lives in Arizona. That's where Nuessle lives, too.

Searching for Black and Gold

I can show but a few of the thousands of Steelers fans at the NFL Experience.

Sand sculpture

My colleague Matt Freed shot this video of an amazing sand sculpture right outside Raymond James Stadium on Saturday.
