More on Paul Oliver; Buddy Guy moving Legends club

Here's another piece on blues scholar Paul Oliver's new book, "Barrellhouse Blues," in which writer Dan Cohen of the San Jose Mercury News examines the book in a little more detail. If you enjoy serious blues books, Oliver writes some of the best.

A new home for Legends

If you're in the neighborhood, Buddy Guy's famous Chicago Legends club is moving up the block from its present location at 754 S. Wabash to 700 S. Wabash, a building that housed the jazz and world music club HotHouse until mid-2007. It will give Guy a building of his own, where he can help keep the blues alive. Here's a Chicago Sun-Times article on the upcoming move.

Regarding the review of Dr. Paul Oliver's book, 'Barrelhouse Blues', It's the same review you linked to a couple of days ago...just printed in a different newspaper. Same author...same text.

Hmmm...they say that the short-term memory is the first faculty to fail as dementia creeps in.
