Funeral arrangements for Jim Weber

I have an update on the funeral plans for Jim Weber, the president of the Blues Society of Western Pa., who died Friday.

The viewing will be Friday at Tatalovich Funeral Home 2205 McMinn St. Aliquippa, PA 15001, phone: 724-378-7550. Two viewings are scheduled for Friday, May 8 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm. Please check with Post-Gazette and Beaver Valley Times for details. Funeral is Saturday. There will be no funeral procession - no gravesite ceremony - all will be done from church.
In lieu of flowers, Jim had requested that donations be sent to the Christian missionary group, New Tribes Missions, PO Box 1787, Sanford, Florida 32772-1787.

I happened to be at Moondog's for a show last night, and before it started, Ron Esser paid a nice tribute to Jim, noting his devotion to the blues, and pointing out how the blues society under Jim had turned into a first-class organization. Society secretary Barb Gangone was also on hand, taking donations.

More on last night's John Nemeth show later.
