Nick Moss, Lurrie Bell coming to the Thunderbird Cafe

Johh Pergal, owner of the blues-loving Thunderbird Cafe in Lawrenceville, sends word that he has booked the Lurrie Bell and Nick Moss show for March 26, the show that had been tentatively set at Moondog's for that night. It's good to know these great guitar players will be in town. Now let's see if we can get a full house for the show (it's early - 8 p.m.)

Here are Moss and Bell together:

And by the way, this Sunday night (3/15), the very excellent Chicago bluesman John Primer and his Real Deal Band will be at the T-bird for an 8 p.m. show -- it should also provide some great blues.

The 'sleeper' show of the year just might be John Primer. Chicago Blues as good as it gets.

I've never seen John Primer, didn't know much about him. but because of this fantastic innovation called the internet I was able to actually see what he looks like and hear what his band sounds like. Truly, we're living in an age of wonder!! Add Nick Moss/Lurie Bell and that's TWO fine shows to look forward to and it's only March. And then there's Jorma at the Club Cafe...all these choices are starting to make me dizzy. What did we do to get so crazy with the Blues? Whatever...let's just keep doing it!!

I'm glad things worked out with John at the Thunderbird for the Moss/Bell gig.  Thanks to Bluenotes for banging the drum.

Primer's last gig at the T-Bird in Feb. of '06 was wall to wall people so lets hope we can get a good crowd out Sunday.  His years with Magic Slim helped him amass a vast playlist and he brings a lot to the table with his slide playing.  Between Slim and Muddy he learned the lessons well. Should be a goodun for sure.

Spring always seems to be s solid time for the T-Bird in particular to bring great shows into town.  There's no better way to shake off cabin fever than with a stiff dose of da blues.
