It's not the weekend yet, and your blues jones may not be as strong as it could be by Friday, but you can get an early start tonight at Moondog's (yes, still in Blawnox) with harpmeister Rick Estrin and the Nightcats.
Sure, it's a school night, but the show starts at 8, and you could be tucked in early with plenty of time to left to dream the blues dream of your choice. Nothing like counting blue notes to fall asleep.
Late-breaking Billy Price news
Billy Price, scheduled for a Sept. 19 show at the Thunderbird Cafe (yes, still in Lawrenceville), sends word via the speedy tubes of the Internet that he'll be sharing the evening with the fabulous French blues guitarist Fred Chapellier (or check their joint MySpace page). They've been cutting a CD together at Bonedog Records in McKeesport, and this could be a great preview.
