Blues-rock guitar guy Walter Trout and his band the Radicals will be at Moondog's in Blawnox Sunday night (8/3), showing off his fast-hand guitar work and powerful style.
I wrote about his latest album, "The Outsiders," a few weeks ago, and wrote stuff like this:
"Trout may not be your traditional bluesman, but he's a tough and talented singer-songwriter who takes advantage of all his musical skills, not just his ability to play the guitar like a machine gun."
He should put on a great show. Alas, I'll be out of town, but comments are alwats welcome here if you see the show and want to share.
Reminders
Don't forget Jimmy Adler's CD release party tonight at Natili's in Butler for "Swing It Around."
The Erie Art Museum Blues and Jazz Festival at Frontier Park in Erie, Aug. 2-3. If you missed Mem Shannon at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival, you can see him there Saturday night.
Also don't forget the Heritage Music BluesFest '08 in Wheeling next weekend, from Aug. 8-10. They have an excellent blues lineup. More next week.
