Between this, and this, and great national publicity and accolades like this, this, this, and this, its nice to hold the head high and thump the chest a little bit after years and years of the tired and trite tripe about Pittsburgh being a rust belt town, drained of economy, talent and dateable singles. Baloney. Sixburgh, City of Champions, Hockey-tahn, Most Livable City in America … pick your modifier, because they all sound -- and feel -- good.
Who knows, perhaps some major international treaty will be hammered out here in September during the G-20?
Some musings on the City of Champions moniker, which, having grown up here in the shadow of the 1970's and the blight of the 1980's, we wholeheartedly embrace.
