Terrible Towel at the inauguration

Like every other American caught up in the thrill of an historic day for our country, a group of us in the sports dept. here at the PG sat gathered around the television watching President Obama's (wow, first time I've typed that -- kinda cool) anyway, about a minute after the speech ends I clearly saw a person waving a Terrible Towel on the CNN feed. It was on for about a second and I blurted it out, but the few other people watching had taken their eyes off the screen.

I knew I didn't imagine it -- so between myriad meetings we've had today, posting news and starting on a zillion other odds and ends to tackle between now and next Sunday, I set about YouTube to try and find the footage and make a screen grab of it if possible. Watched the speech so many times, I practically have it memorized, but COULD NOT FIND IT.

Finally, I found the Twitter status of someone called FireMom that had a link. I jumped from my desk chair in excitement. Then my deskmate, the talented Colin Dunlap says: "Oh. I didn't know you were looking for that. That's been on  Mondesi's House for a while."

Was like someone handing you a bottle opener after you already chipped you teeth and bloodied your armpits trying to open a beer bottle (Colin's line). Or something. Argh! Anyway, good work, Don. Looking forward to your posts throughout the next 2 weeks.

But, please reward my labor and check a pic of it here, too:

After yesterday's fawning lovefest over Barack Hussein's coronation/ascension and repeatedly throwing up. I thought I could escape the messiah worship on the Steelers page. Then I have to read about Tomlin and Rooney's love affair, and some idiot with a beloved Terrible Towel at the coronation/ascension of  our first socialist president.

Another ruined keyboard after throwing up again.

I wish the Steeler organization would put this much love and effort into finding an offensive line to protect the franchise QB, as they do into hero worshiping our "American Idol" liberal president.

In response to Feh, your comment is despicable and has no place in a sports blog. It is your type of meanspirited and uninformed thinking that has caused the downfall of your party. Obama is your president as well as mine so get over the election and try to be a better american.

"has no place in a sports blog"

I agree. Keep these uninformed hero worshipers, like Rooney and Tomlin out the sports page!

Astrodave

Nobody ever said that Obama was not their president.

The ignorent people that have been saying things like that are the people like Donovan Mcnabb and all sorts of rappers that say that Bush was not their president. Mcnabb said something like no other election ever mattered to him and that is just pathetic. To me it seems like way too many people have changed this into a racial issue when that is not what it should be about at all.

well my point is that just because someone does not like obama as their president does not mean they are uninformed or a bad american.
