Ready or not. The NFL season begins with Brandon Jacobs blowing up Redskins:
Reminds me of this man, on this play, my personal favorite in Steelers history:
That play, is rated the No. 12 play in Steelers history in a teriffic new book by Steve Hickoff, cleverly titled "The 50 Greatest Plays in Pittsburgh Steelers Football History." It's a well written, nicely put together book that gives the game synopsis in which each play occurred, the box score, and in some cases the play diagrammed in chalk-talk fashion. The plays range from the obvious -- one guess as to what No. 1 is -- to the obscure (an Elbie Nickel touchdown catch in 1954).The book is definitely worth picking up, as each of the plays brings back a flood of memories, whether you saw the play in person, on TV, or on NFL Films archives. Check it out.
